I’m not sure any more where this idea came from, probably from a dream (where a lot of my story ideas begin), but it was in the summer of 2009. The best summer of my life: I was free to spend 90% of my time on my creative projects. This was one of them.
This is the story of Molloy “Molly” Warrick, a little girl who did not receive a Hogwarts letter, but should have. I was just getting interested in comics and manga at that time, so imagined this story as something between a comic and an illustrated children’s book. Almost any time I draw young girls, I’m thinking of Molly.
It’s set in Culpeper, Virginia, where I lived for a few years in the 90s.
